MAN STABBED TO DEATH AT CHEHALIS GAS STATION

CHEHALIS – A Tacoma man is stabbed to death at a Chehalis gas station on N. National Avenue Monday night. Chehalis Police say the incident happened at 7:47 p.m. when the victim stopped to fill-up and was confronted by his assailant. A 12-year old in the car was also injured by the suspect. A knife believed to have been used in the assaults was recovered at the scene.

The 46-year old Tacoma man was taken to Providence Centralia hospital where he died from his injuries. The 12-year old was treated for injuries and released and a 5-year old in the car was not hurt.

The suspect fled the area before police arrived, but located him when called to an attempted burglary at a NE Boistfort Street home in Chehalis. 30-year old Billy Bartlett of Amanda Park in Grays Harbor County was arrested and jailed for Murder and Assault.
