VANCOUVER –  Lewis County Commissioner Sean Swope shared on social media Monday, “Some good news on our beloved commissioner Stamper.” Longtime educator and Lewis County commissioner Gary Stamper fell ill to complications of coronavirus two weeks ago. One week ago today he was transferred from the emergency room at Providence Centralia Hospital to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver. Stamper’s family says, “The staff at PeaceHealth, Vancouver is taking good care of him and he continues to improve a bit each day. He is still on a ventilator but his numbers are going in the right direction.” They added, “Thank you to everyone for the prayers, positive thoughts, and the encouragement for Gary. Gary is the one who takes care of everyone. I know he is worried about everyone else and all the stuff he is not able to get done right now.”
